1989 Porsche 911 Carrera 4

1989 Porsche 911 Carrera 4

About This Vehicle

THIS IS NOT A 964 RS.

It is not a factory Turbo, and it did not leave Stuttgart wearing a wide body or carrying two turbochargers.

Good. Because its real story is considerably more interesting.

This 1989 Porsche 911 Carrera 4 began life as one of the earliest 964s reportedly delivered to Finland. It was later transformed into a bespoke, all-wheel-drive machine built around a 3.6-litre flat-six, two 993 GT2 turbochargers and a claimed output of more than 600 hp.

The specification reads like the answer to a dangerous question:

What would happen if you kept the compact proportions and analogue character of the 964, then gave it the hardware to embarrass much newer machinery?

A rebuilt six-speed manual gearbox with lengthened first and second gears.
A new limited-slip differential.
993 GT2 clutch.
Lightweight flywheel.
Zytek F1 ECU.
Aquamist water injection.
Additional RUF oil cooling.
H&R coilovers and front stabilisers.
RUF rear stabiliser.
993 RS/GT2 rear subframe.
OEM RS Speedline wheels.
Recaro A8 seats and a Heigo roll bar.

Even the air conditioning was retained and refurbished, because brutality does not have to mean inconvenience.

This is not a preservation-class 964 for someone chasing factory originality. It is for the collector who values serious engineering, documented development and a car built to be experienced rather than merely displayed.

Its identity should be understood precisely: an original 1989 Carrera 4 chassis, extensively converted into a twin-turbo RS-style interpretation. Not factory-made. Not pretending to be. Entirely its own machine.

Available through SPI Curated Cars, subject to document review, technical verification and independent inspection.

Would you preserve an original 964—or build the 600 hp version Porsche never offered?
